Pieter Gautier is Professor of Economics at the Department of Economics of the Free University of Amsterdam. He is affiliated to the Tinbergen Institute and CEPR, and fellow at IZA. In 2004 he received a VIDI grant from NWO. Since 2009 he has been associate editor of the Journal of the European Economic Association. In 2001 and 2007 he was a visiting professor at Georgetown University. He has published in many international magazines including three times in the Review of Economic Studies.
